PMS : A property management system: the software a professional host or property manager runs their properties on (Guesty, Smoobu, Cloudbeds, Kross Booking, …). Several PMSs also act as channel managers. PMS account : A host’s own account inside a PMS, where the host runs their properties. Tatallo PMS API : The API Tatallo publishes for PMSs to call, versioned by URL (/v1). PMS credential : The API key a PMS calls the Tatallo PMS API with. Each environment issues its own, and a key works only in the environment that issued it. Shown once, and handed over only through a one-time secret link; it can be rotated or revoked. Property : A place a host offers on Tatallo: an apartment, a house, a hotel. It has at least one unit, and a permanent id in the Tatallo PMS API. Unit : What a guest books at a property: the entire place, a private room, a shared room or a bed. Every property has at least one; a house is one entire-place unit, a hotel has one unit per room type. A unit sells once a night, or up to a quantity a night (a room type with five identical rooms). Night : The unit of availability: one calendar date on one unit of a property. Reservation Roadmap : The stay in a booking: one unit of one property, from arrival to departure, for a set of guests. The industry’s word, and what a PMS receives and keeps as its own record. Not part of the API yet; see the roadmap.
